+ A Letter From Noelle regarding "Song for Soldiers"

Hi All! First, thank you all for continuing to support my ministry in prayer and love! Your positive words of encouragement mean a lot to me as continue to follow where the Lord leads! I would like to make a clarification on the "Song for Our Soldiers". This song was written for a boyfriend of mine at the time and some friends who were in the army. The song literally came out as a prayer for all of those who make the sacrifice for our freedom. While I realize, that I took some artistic license on not mentioning every single organization that defends our lives and freedom as we know it - they are all thanked in the prayer of the song. I thank all members of the Coast Guard, firefighters, police officers, paramedics, members of the Red Cross and all human rights organizations that put themselves into harms way to help others to live and enjoy the comfort of our freedom in our own homes. You are all mentioned in the prayer that is the song - "I Thank God for Every Man or Woman Defending Our Freedom Everyday." I hope that you all know that your sacrifice does not go unnoticed, and when I pray this song, I pray for you, and your loved ones. May God bless you. Thank you. Noelle +

+ Benefit Concert for Blessing Okoli, HUGE SUCCESS!! +

Blessing, Fr. Eugene Okoli's niece from Nigeria, will be coming to Michigan in July to get the surgery she needs. $20,000 was raised, with the last few thousand donated by Israel Idonije, a Chicago Bear. Thanks to Dr. Edward Bove who will be performing the surgery. Thanks especially to St. Mary Catholic Church in Lowell and fundraising coordinator - and Noelle's mom! - Laurie Garcia!

Studio time is going great, so keep posted for "Set the World on Fire" based around the quote from St. Catherine of Siena - "When you are who you are called to be you will set the world ablaze!"

Please keep Noelle and David in your prayers! CNN will also be coming to finish filming for Noelle's piece in "Latino in America" which will air in October. :)

+ Upcoming John Angotti Concert at St. Gerard! +

John is internationally known Catholic recording artist on the same label as Noelle. Yours truly will also be singing. :) Please help me get the word out as we are going to be collecting a free will offering to help support our youth ministry!

The Concert is August 27, 7-9pm at St. Gerard. It will be a GREAT evening of praise and entertainment!

+ Noelle WINS Two Unity Awards!! +

Noelle is the winner of two Unity Awards from the United Catholic Music and Video Association, which held their annual awards ceremony in New Orleans last night. She won “Pop / Contemporary Song of the Year” for her song “Away from Myself." Also, she won “Pop / Contemporary Album of the Year” for the album “Meet Me Where I Am,” which contains the award winning single!!

Huge congrats and good wishes go out to all the winners of the Unity Awards, and especially to our very own Noelle-- we always knew you were a winner! :)

Hi everyone! Wow, seven (7!) Unity Award Nominations-- not too bad for a debut album!

The nominations include: Song of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, New Artist of the Year, Producer of the Year, Pop/Contemporary Song of the Year, Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year, and Album Packaging of the Year!

Congrats to Noelle, Kevin Paige (her producer) and Dawn Apang (album designer)!!

The 9th Annual Unity Awards Show will be held Saturday, October 25, 2008 at Loyola University Theatre in New Orleans, LA.

+ Big Update and Note from Noelle +

Getting ready for this pilgrimage has been CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just found out that I get to play at WYD and I'm SO EXCITED about it, because it's much better than I could have ever anticipated - my own set! My own chance to share my gifts with the biggest Catholic event in the world!! I feel like one tiny piece of something so grand, that it's incomprehensible. This has been my dream since I started music ministry... nine years ago.

Wow.

But then... I was overwhelmed by the amount of money we needed to raise to get my singers and musicians over there. I had to borrow a couple musicians from another band and it's a great mish-mash of people who can't wait to serve the Lord through music! But it's a lot of money. A LOT of money.

Little miracles keep happening, though. The fact that we were able to get David, my boyfriend and guitarist extraordinare, and Alicia, my sister, and amazing singer, in with our group was awesome... I couldn't believe it and just thanked God that they were able to go! I was so worried that I'd have to play all by myself, and for a youth festival, I didn't think that would sound as good....so Praise Him!

And then, a couple of weeks ago, one of my best friends died. It was so hard. It was really hard for me, because he never heard my CD or saw that I thanked him in the kudos in the liner notes. I wish he would have seen that. His parents gave $2000 towards our WYD fees.... I couldn't believe it. I feel like my friend is very much a part of this trip, even though he's not here with us anymore. God is good, and God makes great things happen out of devastation.

Fr. Will is right... it is SO humbling to ask for money and to be dependent on the generousity of others. But it gives them an opportunity to be part of this as well. I am keeping a list of all the people who have donated towards making this trip possible so that I can pray for them every day of our pilgrimage. Even a priest I knew back when I was a little girl sent me a check! God will provide!!!!

I'm asking for more money this weekend at the Masses - please say a little prayer!!

I can't wait to get to know all of you fellow pilgrims!!!!!!!!!

GREAT NEWS EVERYONE!!

I am performing at World Youth Day in Cockle Bay, Australia! This venue overlooks the ocean and is located in Darling Harbour. It is the largest venue at the Youth Festival with the capacity to hold 70,000 people!

Please keep me in your prayers that everything works out just fine for this event and that I will truly be able to be an instrument of the Holy Spirit and touch people's hearts through the prayer of the music! :)
